JOB DESCRIPTION

Behaviour Change Field Facilitator x2- Bulilima and Umzingwane

Purpose of the Position:

To coordinate and support the operationalisation, implementation and monitoring of the National Behavioural Change Strategy promotion, at district level.

Major Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate, in close collaboration with the DAC the dissemination of the national BC strategy in the district.
  • Plan; implement and coordinate all B.C activities at district level in collaboration with the DAC and other stakeholders.
  • Improve linkages and partnership with relevant district stakeholders on HIV prevention.
  • Facilitate district level advocacy and trainings of political, traditional and religious leaders as well as District stakeholders and BC volunteers
  • Undertake quarterly advocacy and support visits to all wards for all B.C activities, monitoring the uptake of services (VCT, OI/ART, Condom, PMTCT) in collaboration with MoH , ZNFPC and PSI.
  • Ensure mainstreaming of B.C promotion into all major district events.
  • Identify training and development needs among staff and provide relevant training and information on new developments regarding BC, HIV prevention and public health.
  • Manage and account for all programme resources at district level, such as programme finances, assets and human resources.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of District and Community Action Plans on BC promotion aimed at reducing stigma associated with PILHIV and also reducing gender-based violence, stigma, and risky sexual behaviours.
  • Documentation of practices that have a direct impact /influence on programme outputs and outcomes.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Degree in HIV/AIDS, Health Promotion, Social Sciences or other related field
  • Ability to speak local languages.
  • Clean class 4 drivers licence.
  • Ability to identify gaps, trends and key issues relating to HIV prevention and planning appropriate interventions to address them.
  • Ability to review measurable indicators with detailed input, output, process and outcome and impact measures.
  • Practical knowledge of new developments in HIV Programming, public health, epidemic disease control and prevention
  • Organisational and programme management skills, to plan strategically and mainstream BC Promotion for effective programme impact.
  • Knowledge of working in rural communities through decentralised structures.
  • Networking and collaboration skills, with key service providers and stakeholders at district level.

Ability to speak, read and write local language is a must.
