POSITION: B1 Programme Manager
STARTING SALARY: US$ 3,411.00 per month
DURATION: 2 YEAR FIXED TERM (which may be extended subject to the wider programme requirements of the office)

The post holder will be part of the Basic Services team comprising of: a Team Leader, an Education Adviser, an Infrastructure Adviser, 2 Health Advisers 2 Programme Managers (including this post), a Programme Officer, and a Programme Assistant. This team will be delivering against UK government commitments of providing 149,000 girls and women with improved access to family planning service by 2020, improved nutrition for 2,742,707 people, help at least 2,500,000 get access to clean water and sanitation, and helps at least 257,000 poor children gain a decent level of education.
DFID is one of the largest bilateral donors in Zimbabwe for the past 5 years. We therefore play a significant role in the donor community and in particular in the health sector. Other donors currently active in the health sector include the EU, US, Sweden, Norway and Ireland. DFID does not channel funds through Government of Zimbabwe systems but works closely with multilateral organisations, (notably UNICEF, UNFPA and the World Bank), as well as through a range of local and international private sector and civil society organisations.
This posting may have line management duties, and at times of demand may be required to support the wider Basic Services Team.
