The functions of the finance manager position can be considered identical to a treasurer position, or as a “light” treasurer who has additional analysis responsibilities that include support of the management team in a variety of operational decisions. This job description assumes the latter view of the finance manager position. As such, the finance manager should manage funds in such a manner as to maximize return on investment while minimizing risk, and while also ensuring that an adequate control structure is in place over the transfer and investment of funds. Further, the finance manager engages in financial analysis in such areas as forecasting, budgeting, engaging in cost reduction analysis, and reviewing operational performance. The position is considered to be more senior than the financial analyst position.

Job Description
- Preparing annual financial statements and monthly management reports.
- Monthly control accounts reconciliations
- Consolidation of accounts for the group
- General ledger processing and sub-ledger to GL reconciliations
- Defining accounting procedures in new systems implemented7.8. Data migration
- Creation of accounting workflow diagrams in discussion with development team
- Reporting on uptake and any concerns on the accounting system
- Attend to product costing as may be required
- Regular general ledger review to ensure accounts are correctly and accurately maintained. Addressing and reporting any issues to the Finance Director (FD).
- Managing and following up debtors and creditors (including reconciliations), including chasing and processing of supplier invoices, creditors reconciliations
- Monitoring advance payments acquittal with bank
- Monthly fuel throughput reconciliations
- Any other duties as assigned from time to time
Candidate Specification
- Experience: 5 years
- Education Level: Degree
- Qualifications: Qualified Chartered Accountant
- Software: Microsoft office
- Equipment: PC
- Knowledge Of: Sage X3 will be an added advantage.

- Ability To: work as part of a team and to build strong working relationships
