Job description
SECURITY OFFICER (2 YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT)
Job Purpose
To maintain a safe and secure environment for the Mine, employees and customers by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
Requirements
Key Activities
Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points and permitting entry.
Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures and restraining trespassers.
Conducts investigations and recommends appropriate corrective action.
Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities and interviewing witnesses.
Analyses security related information to identify possible risks and recommend appropriate actions.
Conducts security searches.
Liaises with stakeholders to exchange information related to security risks and cases
Manages sub-contractor service level agreements in order to ensure compliance.
Maintains organization’s stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Adheres to safety health and environmental policies and procedures
Minimum Education, Training & Experience Requirements
BGCSE plus Certificate in Security Management or equivalent coupled with five years’ experience of which two should be at supervisory level preferably in a Mining environment.
Valid Class B drivers licence is a pre-requisite
Knowledge of SHE management systems (ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001).
