Secure Food Systems Programme Coordinator
About The Position:
The Secure Food Systems Programme Coordinator will work closely with the Regional Connectors and country programme staff to catalyse the growth and development of the SFS programme through providing leadership and effective coordination to the SFS team. The position also provides leadership in developing and delivering on related influencing initiatives while participating in resource mobilisation in line with Oxfam in Zimbabwe’s Programme Strategic Framework 2016 to 2020.
This position will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of a sound Secure Food Systems (SFS) programme , in line with the Country Strategy to leverage evidence gathered through humanitarian and development work for influencing work (policy, campaigning and advocacy) working with partners and networks. Also establishing and maintaining functional relationships with policy makers, government officials, political parties, civil society, development partners and other interest groups who can either be targets or alliance partners of SFS related advocacy and influencing work. Capacity building of partner staff and people movement. The Secure Food Systems Coordinator, over and above the responsibilities described herein, is part of the first line of Oxfam responders in the event of a CAT 1 or CAT 2 humanitarian crisis being declared, therefore can be assigned to support and/or lead the response as part of our organisational commitment to saving lives while ensuring commitments to donors and beneficiaries on ongoing work.
What We Are Looking For:
- Advanced degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies, Social Sciences or relevant qualification
- Minimum 3 of years working experience in similar post
- Experience of building alliances, networking around extractive issues and delivering impact advocacy on the women’s rights, and secure local food systems.
- Excellent understanding of different aspects of quality programming (for example: partnership, participation, accountability, innovation, gender and monitoring, evaluation and learning) and how these can be incorporated into different interventions.
