RTI International has been partnering the Ministry of Health and Child Care in Building Health Data Dissemination and Information Use Systems in the Republic of Zimbabwe. One of the activities under this work is the improvement and modernization of health information collection systems. As a result a need has arisen to hire ICT professionals to work on MOHCC ICT systems.

Public Health Specialist/Trainer

Position Overview;

This position will work closely with the Deputy Director Health Information Systems (DDHIS) and Provincial and City Health Information staff throughout the country. The successful candidate will assist the RTI Director in the overall management and implementation of project activities.

Key Functions

• The candidate should be a public health specialist with strong ability to synthesize and interpret public health data.
• Co-ordinate and facilitate training of health workers on all aspects of health information including but not limited to data collection, data storage and transmission, data cleaning, data quality procedures, data analysis, report writing and dissemination.
• Co-ordinate and facilitate training of health workers on all functional areas of data management at the district and provincial level.

Qualifications Required:

• Masters degree in public health, nursing, social science, statistics, education, or other relevant academic degree
• Minimum of 5 years experience in public health position.
• Experience with standard software packages for report writing and data analysis such as MS Office Suite, Epi-Info, STATA, ACCESS, SPSS and DHIS is an advantage.
