PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:**

ActionAid International Zimbabwe (AAIZ) is seeking to engage a self-driven and dynamic professional who will be coordinating and leading the implementation of an anticipated resilience building programme starting from 1st June 2016 (contingent to successful application of funding). The program is anticipated to come on board and contribute to strengthening resilience of rural communities to protect development gains and improve their well-being in the face of shocks and stresses. The project will also improve the absorptive, adaptive and transformative capacities of at-risk communities to better land use regimes, enhance yields, sustainably increase returns, reduce malnutrition, develop comprehensive business models and strengthen various spectrum of stakeholder partnership in targeted districts.

KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS

The Project Manager will oversee the implementation of innovative and sustainable responses that will be rolled out in close partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development and other district stakeholders. He/she will also manage the Consortium Implementing Team, relate with donors, provide management oversight for the project’s narrative and financial reporting and be overall in charge of the project’s narrative and financial reporting. The manager will support provision to and building the capacity of partners in program planning, implementation and monitoring & evaluation to effectively and efficiently implement program and project activities. He/she will facilitate the implementation of strategic issues relating to other thematic areas.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE

· The candidate should have at least 10 years relevant experience in resilient work and management of related projects, and should be a holder of an Advanced University degree in rural development, agricultural economics, agricultural extension, agribusiness or a related field.

· Experience in managing muilti-grant programs with demonstrated capacity to deliver results and manage partner relationships.

OTHER COMPETENCIES

· Demonstrated commitment to working with AAIZ target groups i.e. poor and marginalized groups at community and national levels

· Good organizational and planning skills including program/projects budget tracking in line with contractual obligations

· Ability to work in partnerships with service providers/policy makers from both voluntary and statutory sectors

· Ability to write concise, analytical and accurate reports to agreed deadlines

· Knowledge and understanding of monitoring and evaluation processes and the ability to collate and analyze data

· Ability to communicate effectively verbally and Good written English and local languages relevant in areas of work

· Clean Class 4 driver’s license
