KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • In collaboration with the Advisor MEAL, Programme Managers and Programme Officers, the incumbent will assist to co­ordinate the implementation of all design, monitoring, evaluation and research activities irv measuring impact of all SC programmes with a focus on ensuring quality at all levels.
  • Participate in the development, implementation and continuous review of a SC sector-wide M&E system that measures and tracks the impact of SC interventions on the lives of children.
  • Assist the Advisor MEAL and Programme Managers in developing and/or revising Country M&E Plans, logic models, M&E frameworks and annual/quarterly reports.
  • Develop and/or provide technical support to the maintenance of program databases for all SC projects across the thematic areas.
  • Provide technical support to ail SC quantitative and qualitative data analysis and support the production of survey/assessment reports at all levels.
  • Lead or coordinate (as assigned) needs assessments, baselines, evaluations, HEA work and any other special studies for SC programmes.
  • Support programme managers.as assigned, in producing end of project reports.
  • Participate and lead in building the capacity of SC programme staff (M&E Assistants, Data Capturing Clerks, Programme/Project Officers, casual enumerators etc) oh database use, data entry/analysis packages, in the use of M&E systems,tools and instruments to measure the impact of programs on the lives of children.
  • Assist program staff in developing and implementing program specific monitoring plans and refinement of programs’ process and impact indicators.
  • Ensure SC’s Child Protection Policy and the IASC Guidelines/Action Plan to prevent sexual exploitation are monitored and reported on.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE     

 

  • Possession of a first degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, Social Sciences, Project Planning, Computer
  • Studies or related field with significant statistical analysis content in a relevant field
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in Design, Monitoring & Evaluation of humanitarian and development programmes with
  • Education, Health & Nutrition, Child Protection, Child Rights Governance and Emergencies/Child Poverty programmes preferred.
  • Familiarity with principles & current approaches to M&E using both quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • At least two years professional work experience in M&E/database development or management with advanced skills in MS
  • Access, MS Excel, CSpro and SPSS.   ,
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Strong understanding of humanitarian accountability principles.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and other vernacular languages.
