The client is a well established and reputable Financial Institution with sound reputation for high standards, reliability, social responsibility and integrity. Due to internal changes within the Group we have been exclusively retained to assist with the recruitment and selection of a candidate to fill the critical and strategic role of Managing Director. The primary purpose of the Managing Director’s role is to provide effective strategic direction for a multi-disciplinary team leading to the attainment of the bank’s objectives.

MAIN DUTIES TO INCLUDE:

  • Formulating, managing and executing the Bank’s strategic plan based on parameters set by the Board.
  • Directing the activities of the Banks such that the financial performance is in line with the Group set standards.
  • Setting objectives and target in line with the overall business strategy that makes the Bank a key revenue growth area for the Group.
  • Developing and implementing policies that assist in reducing business risks whilst increasing market share.
  • Reviewing the performance of products and making recommendations on improvement.
  • Facilitating the implementation of best practices in people management, financial and operational management.
  • Monitoring all lending activities so that they are within the laid down policies and procedures.
  • Identifying additional revenue opportunities for the bank.
  • Take complete responsibility for the development and acceptance of challenging realistic objectives and plans by immediate subordinates and help them to achieve desired results.
  • Designing and implementing change programmes aimed at boosting employee productivity.
  • Develop and maintain health relationships with key stake holders locally, regionally and internationally.
  • To establish world class systems to improve corporate governance standards and best practice in all functions.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must be a holder of a Business Studies/ Commerce/ Banking degree or equivalent plus a post graduate qualification (an MBA/MBL).
  2. Senior Management experience of at least 10 years at an Executive level in a reputable Banking Institution.
  3. Membership of a relevant professional Institute.
  4. Highly developed interpersonal, negotiating, organisational and communication skills.
  5. Commitment to continuous improvement and customer focused quality service delivery.
  6. Must be business minded, strategic thinker with impeccable integrity and good motivational and leadership skills.
