Job Information of the Legal Resources Foundation

The Legal Resources Foundation a local legal services NGO invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the post of Legal Programmes Director.

Duties and responsibilities
–    In liaison with the National Director, Finance Director and Centre Directors, taking overall responsibility for supervising and monitoring the implementation of legal programmes at all centres, identifying problem areas and recommending and implementing appropriate corrective measures
–    In coordination with the other Directors and programme managers, managing and coordinating the activities under all legal programmes
–    In conjunction with the National Director and Finance Director, identifying and mobilising the human and material resources necessary for the achievement of the objectives of the legal programmes, including engaging in fund-raising activities
–    Analysing reports from centre directors and programme managers concerning their legal programmes, and reporting on these to the National Director for her consideration, further action and distribution to relevant individuals, organisations and institutions
–    In conjunction with the other Directors and programme managers, identifying new target groups, and developing and designing new manpower development, education and training programmes most appropriate for those target groups.

Qualifications and experience
–    Qualified and registered legal practitioner in Zimbabwe
–    At least 6 years’ experience as a lawyer engaged in the provision of legal services
–    Good understanding of and experience in drawing up and analysing programme evaluations, strategic plans, activity reports and project proposals
–    Thorough understanding of civil society and the legal services sector. Working experience in civil society will be an advantage
–    Experience in high-level NGO administration and management, especially in the legal services sector, will be an advantage.
