Zuva Petroleum (Pvt) Ltd invites applications from suitably and experienced candidates to fill the position of Engineering Manager based in Harare. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Control all aspects of company engineering including design, operations, construction and support activities, including project/programme initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control and close-out.
• Develop and implement strategic plans, goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for the engineering department in order to meet the overall company objectives
• Monitor expenditure of sanctioned items against company budget and compile monthly reports on such expenditure for senior management review
• Lobby local authorities in respect of fit for purpose legislation and regulation
• Planning, organising, overseeing, coordinating and reviewing the work of professional and technical staff, managing the effective use of company’s engineering resources to improve organisational productivity and customer service
• Manage equipment availability through planned preventative maintenance
• Implement project management for all buildings and equipment making sure engineering field operations and activities comply with SHEQ policies and standards
• Actively promote the identification and dissemination of engineering best practices
• Train staff, contractors, distributors and dealers on systems, processes and equipment characteristics with regards to operations
• Manage and collaborate with service providers, relationship and partnership building

Qualifications & Experience

• A Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering
• A member of the Zimbabwe Institute of Engineers
• Project Management qualification
• An MBA will be an added advantage
• Must have at least 5 years’ post graduate experience of which 2 must be at managerial level
• A clean class 4 driver’s licence
