Job Purpose
To consolidate group results for the Company in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM). The Group operates in 19 countries and has 78 subsidiaries so this is a complex consolidation. Preparation of supporting schedules containing calculations to back up the journal entries raised in HFM.
Analysing HFM submissions of companies within the group for accuracy and completeness and unusual variances.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential at least a
• B. Com / B.Compt Degree or
• B. Compt Honours Degree
Advantageous:
• Chartered Certified Accountant – ACCA/FCCA or
• CIMA or
• Chartered Accountant
Key Result Areas
Monthly Reporting – actuals
1. Preparation & distribution of the monthly exchange rates.
2. Preparation of Group Consolidations in HFM for “actuals”, including raising journal entries in HFM and preparing excel supporting schedules containing calculations to back up the journal entries raised in HFM.
3. Ensuring that the underlying operational companies confirm inter-company loan balances every month and preparing a monthly summary of all group inter-company balances/differences.
4. Analysing HFM submissions of companies within the group for accuracy and completeness & unusual variances.
5. Liaising with Financial Managers in the underlying operations to ensure that monthly reporting deadlines are met.
6. Setting up and maintaining smartview files in order to assist in drafting the monthly Consolidation Report for the Global Consolidation.
7. Collation of non-hyperion supporting schedules from the operations for inclusion in the Global Consolidation Report.
8. Preparation of the Global Monthly Consolidation Report for review by the Head of Group Financial Accounting. This report does not include commentary on variances on actuals vs budgets, it’s merely a report on the actual numbers for the Group & Sub-Groups.
9. Advising on the treatment of complex consolidation transactions.
10. Saving down all HFM reports and workings onto the South African finance network for all companies & consolidations included in the Group.
Statutory Reporting & Year-end audit
1. Preparation of year-end consolidations.
2. Preparation of group statutory schedules & ensuring that the operations have sent the necessary information required to comply with the IFRS financial statements.
3. Preparation of group segmental reporting.
