General Nurse job vacancy-Zimbabwe 2016
APPLICATIONS are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the above-mentioned positions, which have fallen vacant in the Health Services Department. Reporting to the Sister-in-Charge, the incumbents will be responsible for all general nursing duties, among other duties.
Qualifications and Experience:
Diploma in General Nursing
Diploma in Midwifery
Counselling and Family Planning certificates
At least 3 years’ experience in general nursing and a minimum of one year’s experience as a Midwife
Practising Certificate
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Attends to emergency cases and manages same as per protocol
Dispenses drugs to patients as prescribed by the Doctor
Admits maternity patients as per protocpl
Examines pregnant mothers for ante natal care
Conducts baby deliveries as per protocol
Conducts post natal care of babies and mothers as per procedure
Participates in the immunization and national outreach programmes
Conducts surveillance on EPI diseases
Any other duties as may be assigned by the Matron
Core Competencies:
Mature and compassionate
Excellent clinical management skills
Excellent risk analysis skills
Excellent knowledge on procedures to be taken during child birth
