Finance Manager Harare

The Finance Manager is responsible for leadership of the formulation,development,implementation and oversight of financial and risk management strategies, policies and systems that enable CARE Zimbabwe to accomplish its core business objectives.

The Finance manager will be responsible for the finance department, staff management and supervision, Country office budget preparation and control, audit requirements and CARE International Countries liaison on financial matters.

The Finance Manager will also provide technical assistance, standardization and quality control to sub-offices and direct support to programs.

Specific Duties

• Develop, implement and monitor CARE Zimbabwe’s financial policies and procedures
  in liason with HQ
• Ensure proper internal controls are in place to safeguard the assets and mitigate risks.
• Interpretation of the Zimbabwe Financial Regulations and Statutory Requirements and ensure proper compliance is maintained.
• Internal and external audit facilitation
• Internal and External financial reporting
• Payroll management
• Donor contact management

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent
• Certified / Chartered Accountant would an added advantage
• Minimum of 5 years in a similar position
• Knowledge of Scala 5.1 is a must and any related accounting packages
• High level of competence in finance management
• Systems and Policy development and upgrade skills.
• Non-Profit accounting management skills.
• Experience and understanding of relevant NGO and donor contractual compliance
• Excellent written communication, liason and representational skills.
• Must be a self-starter and self-motivated.
