Entomological Assistant at AIRS Zimbabwe Technical Director/Entomologist
Description
- Assist the AIRS Zimbabwe Technical Director/Entomologist in the planning and implementation of AIRS Zimbabwe’s entomological surveillance of the NMCP’s IRS programming in districts that use pyrethroid-class insecticides.
- The Entomological Assistant will work with the Technical Director/ Entomologist to complete : pyrethrum spray catches, mosquito collection and identification, and other entomological surveillance activities before, during and after the IRS campaign;
- Monthly wall bioassays to determine the residual life of insecticides and the effectiveness of IRS in controlling mos quito vectors. Additionally, the Entomological Assistant will work extensively with appropriate counterparts at the NMCP and provincial and districts to develop their capacity in entomological surveillance.

Requirements
Qualification Requirements:
- BSc or MSc Degree (preferred) in Entomology, Zoology or Biology, and at least three years of professional experience in vector control and entomological surveillance work.
- Strong abilities in report writing, quantitative data analysis, and experience working on international donor projects are highly desirable.
