Job Summary

Employment in Zimbabwe. The Peer Facilitator Supervisor will coordinate the implementation of the intervention on Maternal Child Health (MCH) classes for women and peer groups for men to improve PMTCT outcomes. The cadre (s) will be responsible for the implementation including support, supervision, monitoring and co-ordination of this program component in a district to be decided TBA. He/she will work closely with the Program Assistant, the technical teams at EGPAF and will be reporting directly to the Technical Officer- Community Linkages.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Under the guidance of the Technical Officer-Community Linkages, the Peer Facilitator Supervisor will perform the following duties, but are not limited to:
  • To provide district level oversight of the implementation of MCH Classes for women and peer groups for men
  • To provide support required to start the implementation of this project component
  • To build capacity of peer facilitators by providing support in trainings and mentorship
  • To provide support, and supervision to the peer facilitators and ensure good quality peer facilitation
  • To collect monthly reports from peer facilitators and consolidate these reports into a monthly report submitted to EGPAF
  • To enter program data from the intervention into a database
  • To hold monthly meetings and provide site support visits to each of the five communities of the peer facilitator group at least once a month to ensure that the project is active in the community and that it is meeting its objectives
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the peer facilitators

a.    Requesting and keeping records of stationery and other utilities
b.    request and distribute all allowances to peer facilitators
c.    ensure all field based bicycles are properly maintained
d.    ensure that foundation assets are properly secured and kept in good working condition

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • The incumbent must be a Community Nurse, Social Science or an Environmental Health Technician with at least 5 years experience of working in the community.
  • Extensive knowledge on MCH including PMTCT, knowledge of district and its community structures
  • Experience of working in the community is a must.
  • Experience in mobilizing communities for public health programs will be an added advantage.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Previous working experience in Zimbabwe and knowledge of local culture
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team
  • Good knowledge and understanding of HIV / AI DS issues in the health sector
  • Good attention to detail and excellent follow-through
  • Strong written and verbal skills Computer literacy
  • Ability and willingness to reside in the district of operation
  • Ability to ride a motor bike is a must (Clean Class 3 License)
