Background:
Land O’Lakes International Development is a 501c3 nonprofit organization whose vision is to be a global leader in transforming lives by engaging in agriculture and enterprise partnerships that replace poverty with prosperity, and dependency with self-reliance. We leverage Land O’Lakes, Inc.’s near-century of history by engaging in international agriculture and economic development programs, implementing more than 280 programs in 80 countries since 1981.
We are looking for experts for an anticipated agricultural project in Mozambique starting later this year. The technical scope for the five-year project will include a focus on climate smart agriculture and developing value chains including cowpea, pigeonpea, sesame, soy, groundnut, and common bean. There will be a primary focus on productivity, engaging with farmer “in a meaningful way” to improve their agricultural practices to increase, productivity, profitability, and become more resilient to climate change. We anticipate opportunities for; 1) a Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) who is strong in Agronomy; 2) a Specialist in Climate Smart Agriculture; and 3) a Specialist in developing and growing Value Chains. Candidates should highlight in their CV experience in any of the areas listed below:

* Resilience
* Nutrition and agriculture
* Gender integration
* Youth in agriculture
* ICT4D
* Market assessments
* Market systems and/or market facilitation
Qualifications:
* M.S., M.B.A., or other post-graduate degree in agronomy, animal science, agribusiness, or other relevant field;
* 5 o years of relevant and progressive work experience in developing countries in your area(s) of expertise as listed above.
* Proven knowledge of agricultural production and agribusiness systems in Africa, preferably East Africa, especially in Mozambique.
* Preference for candidates with fluency or professional proficiency in Portuguese.
