Duties and Responsibilities

• Conducting group education and individual counselling sessions with focus on male circumcision as part of comprehensive HIV prevention package.
• Providing information on male circumcision, men’s sexual and reproductive health services, including prevention and treatment of STIs and other HIV Prevention interventions to MC Clients visiting the site.
• Offering routine HIV Testing and counselling to clients before circumcision.
• Providing rapid HIV testing and interpretation of results
• Providing post-test counselling for clients tested HIV positive and negative
• Referring clients who need follow up services accordingly.
• Stimulating demand and mobilize clients to take up MC Services.
• Providing pre –op and post –op clinical assessments and care of MC clients.
• Preparing operating rooms and consultation rooms to perform circumcisions and pre and post-operative care services.
• Preparing instruments, equipment and consumables needed for MC Services.
• Reviewing and counsel clients on follow up visits
• Recording client information and outcomes using standard M & E tools and compile weekly/monthly activity reports

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or degree in Nursing.
• Trained Midwife or Theatre Nurse with at least three years’ experience.
• Qualified and experienced in HIV related counselling of at least three years. ? Certified and experienced in HIV rapid testing.
• Highly motivated and dedicated person.
• Registered with the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe with valid practicing certificate
