Job Summary
Sought by a reputable company in the insurance industry, based in Harare.
Description
The successful candidate will:
Maintain complete, proper & accurate technical accounting records for all company transactions.
Be responsible for managing premium, reinsurance and claim recoveries for the company’s portfolio of clients in order to maximize cash collections and minimize business stream’s exposure to bad debt.
Manage the production of management accounts and executive financial management reports.
Be responsible for expense and cash management forecasting, trend analysis.
Prepare tax returns to pertinent stakeholders, i.e ICZ and Commissioner of Insurance.
Manage credit control.
Assist in business planning and capital budgeting.
Requirements
The Person:
Must be a holder of an accounting Degree or equivalent (minimum of 2.1 class).
Have an ACCA qualification and demonstrated application of accounting standards will be an added advantage.
Must possesss a minimum of 3 years’ specialist experience in short term insurance and reinsurance accounting.
Should possess strong negotiation, analytical and conceptual skills.
Must have the knowledge of and experience in the use of Sage Accpac accounting and Serius systems as an added advantage.
Should be a mature and affective communicator, who demonstrates excellent people management skills.
Have strategic and team orientation with proven dedication to innovation and continous improvement.
Should be a self-starter who maintains high professional standards.
