Health and Hygiene Promotion Officer: Zimbabwe Community Development Association (ZCDA)
The successful candidate will be accountable for professional and technical contribution to programme/project design, planning, administration, monitoring and evaluation of WASH programme/project activities aligned with the components of the UNICEF funded Rural WASH project. The Health and Hygiene Promotion Officer will liaise closely with the RDC, DWSSC and other organizations and the local communities to improve community participation and ownership of all WASH activities and to improve programme quality.

Profile specific to this post
– Degree/Diploma in Environmental or Public Health/Health Promotion/Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
– A minimum of five years experience managing WASH programmes
– Strong demonstrable experience in liaising with governmental/local authorities and other NGOs
– Excellent interpersonal, motivational, capacity building and management skills with extensive experience and interest in coaching and mentoring staff including key stakeholders
– Experience in the following WASH approaches: Community Approach to Total Sanitation (CATS), demand- led sanitation and hygiene promotion (in schools and communities) and concepts like, Participatory Health and Hygiene Education (PHHE) and Open Defecation Free (ODF)
– Ability to write reports and a willingness to share information
– Experience in working with RDC is an added advantage
– Clean class 4 driver’s license is a requirement
– Proficient in computer skills and use of relevant software and other applications, e.g. word processing, spreadsheet, database, Internet. The WASH Officer will be answerable to the WASH Coordinator
