Job Summary
We are looking for a talented, qualified and experienced Workshop Foreperson who will play a critical role in planning and executing planned preventive maintenance of the Divisional fleet. Allied Timbers enjoys world class safety performance and the safety processes are an integrated part of our operations. The successful incumbent will actively participate as a member of a multifunctional Divisional team applying mechanical concepts and principles to all work performed.
Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Divisional Manager Chimanimani.
the successful incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
- Carry out fleet diagnostics and associated repairs.
- Initiate and implement the planned and adhoc preventive maintenance program to
optimise fleet availability and utilization. - Carry out engine and gearbox overhauls.
- Investigate breakdowns and recommend corrective action.
- Manage downtime in response to breakdown events.
- Lead and supervise Artisans, Assistants and Apprentices.
- Perform pre and post route checks on Company fleet.
- Carry out routine motor vehicle services.
Requirements
Person Specification:The ideal candidate must be a team player with a focus for attaining results with minimal supervision who in addition should meet the following attributes:
- Class 1 Mechanic
- Knowledge in working with heavy fleet and equiqment such as UD Trucks.
- 5 year’s mechanical experience in a heavy industrial environment of which 3
years should have been at Supervisory level. - Relevant Degree/Diploma an added advantage
- Clean Class 4 drivers’s license
