Vacancy for Logistics Officer – External

Applications are invited to the following positions that have arisen within the Transport & logistics Department at a Manufacturing company in Zimbabwe.

Logistics Officer – External

• To ensure that all Transportation and Logistical Policies & Programmes of the company’s i.e. Movement of Machinery, Spares, Raw materials, finished products are processed timeously, cost-effectively , and efficiently.
• Interfacing and representing the Company when dealing with Transporters; Packaging, Coal & Raw material Suppliers; Key Customers; Clearing Agents and regulatory authorities i.e. ZIMRA, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Industry & Commerce, AMA, Plant Quarantine Services, National Biotechnology Authority, and Veterinary Dept among others, regarding the clearance and transportation of the company’s cargo (Imports & Exports).
• Advising Management, on a regular basis, regarding Transport & Logistical (Imports & Export Regulations) issues in Zimbabwe and other regional destination.
• Vetting and Appointment of Eligible Transport and clearing service providers to ensure smooth movement of goods (Inland & Over borders).
• Issuance of Loading Instructions, Dispatch Notes and Collection Orders for all Inward & Outward cargo of the Company.
• Verifying and passing of Transporter’s and clearing service provider’s Invoices as guided by the company’s approved Rates.
• Tracking of all Imported & Exported Cargo in transit up to the point of delivery i.e. Air shipments, Sea Freight, Road Freight.
• Interfacing with Approved Clearing Agents and regulatory authorities (Zimra) regarding the clearance of the company’s cargo.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree/Diploma – Transport & Logistics / Equivalent.
• 5 years minimum experience in a similar position.
• Experience in a manufacturing set-up is an added advantage.
