Job Title : Principal Director- Higher and Tertiary Education

Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversee the operations of UNESCO, Quality Assurance and Standards, Tertiary and Higher Education Programmes Departments,
- Coordinate and assist in the development of Higher Education, Quality Assurance systems within Higher Education and Universities.
- Coordinate and regulate Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET).
- Reviewing and recommending Higher and Tertiary Education Programmes fees structure
- Inform and advise the Permanent Secretary where necessary on Human Capital Development.
- Initiate, participate and develop high impact and viable sectoral workplan in line with ZIM-ASSETS.
- Present and defend Ministry policy positions and attend Cabinet Committee meetings on behalf of the Permanent Secretary.
- Assist the Permanent Secretary to prepare papers for Parliamentary portfolio, Cabinet memoranda and response to Parliament.
- Supervise and appraise two Directors of UNESCO, Quality Assurance and standards, Tertiary Education Programmes and Higher Educational Programmes.
Requirements
Qualifications
- A First Degree in Business/Administration/Education/Engineering/Applied Sciences or related equivalent qualification.
- A relevant Master’s and or PhD Degree would be an added advantage.
Experience And Attributes
- Should have no less than 5 years of relevant experience and a minimum of 2 years in the Director or equivalent grade.
- In depth knowledge of the education sector.
- Should have Research and analytical skills.
- Should also possess technical skills.
- Should have good Communication skills.
- Should have good Public Relations.
- Should be prepared to travel widely within and outside the country.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to built trust and team work.
