We are building a talent pool of candidates to be considered for future positions with UNICEF Zimbabwe within our Supply and Logistics Unit. Successful candidates will be placed in a pool that will be valid for 2 years. However two positions are currently vacant as indicated against the position.
Senior Logistics Assistant (Shipping) at GS7 Level (Currently vacant)
Purpose of the Job:
Under the direct guidance of the Logistics Officer, assists in the procurement, distribution and monitoring of UNICEF’s supplies, in support of the Country Programme. Responsible for day to day follow up with Logistics assistance on all goods shipment, clearance and completion of customs formalities in a timely manner. Prepares weekly, monthly inventory reports and management indicators for final review by supervisor. Execute service contracts and credentialing of contracted business in support of the service contracts unit, promoting a collaborative, client-focused, quality and results-oriented approach in the team but also delivering very specific outputs.
Requirements
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management and Contracting, or Law, Business, Public Administration, Engineering or any development related field and/or a degree in contracting law or equivalent years of relative experience.
- At least seven years of professional work experience in logistics management at a national level with an NGO or another UN agency is desirable.
- International experience in contracting an advantage.
