DAI is currently recruiting for a Senior Health Systems Strengthening Specialist for a potential USAID project. The project will provide technical assistance in strengthening the South African public health supply system. The project will serve the health commodity technical assistance needs of the United States Agency for International Development in South Africa, (USAID/South Africa), other United States government (USG) agencies, the South African government, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and other entities across all health elements (e.g. family planning/reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, TB).
Senior Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) Specialist: The Senior HSS Specialist serves as the main point of contact on all activities under the health technology assessment (HTA), Rational Use of Medicines, and Enabling Environment objectives of the project.
The requirements of the Senior HSS Specialist include:
A graduate degree in public administration, public policy, international development, public health or a related field is preferred. In lieu of a graduate degree, a bachelor’s degree in the same field plus an additional two years of work experience beyond the required minimum years’ experience as per the Basic IQC may be substituted for a graduate degree;
Experience strengthening health systems in South Africa;
Experience interacting with South African government officials at the national, provincial, and district levels is preferred;
Experience recruiting, forming, and successfully managing teams, and ensuring the quality of their products;
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
