Key Responsibilities
Production and Management of Publications / Promotional items
– Coordinate and implement all aspects of production of print and audio-visual material including gathering content, writing, editing to final printing/publication and distribution. This will involve some degree of flexibility and require traveling when necessary
– Prepare material for publication on ICRC Red Cross website and social media platforms
– Coordinate and manage publication and distribution of leaflets, brochures, specialized texts, and any other publications as required
– Maintain and manage the stock of publications/promotional items as well as their storage
– Order publications and promotional materials as required, and manage their distribution to clients
Communications
– Assist with the drafting of news releases, speeches and other public communication for the delegation, under the supervision of the Head of Communication
– Assist in the preparation of papers on key issues or themes to the Delegation’s activities upon request or initiative in cooperation with the Communication Officers where necessary
– Attend meetings with stakeholders and representatives of other organizations involved in the humanitarian sectors as required
– Conduct dissemination sessions as needed for a variety of stakeholders and beneficiaries of the ICRC Red Cross

Administration
– Generate Requisition Orders (RO’s) for services required and activities / programmes planned by the department
– Act as the focal point for the organization of events, workshops and seminars to target audiences
– Maintain an updated contact list of the names of interlocutors, their functions and other contact information for the department
– Ensure that the department adheres to administrative and financial procedures as required by the Delegation
– Manage the filing system of the department according to the departmental filing plan
Qualification and skills
– University degree in Communication, Journalism or equivalent
– 2 years experience in a similar field
– Experience in photography, video-production, and production of publications. Knowledge of and experience using InDesign an asset
– Fluent in written and spoken English and one local language. In addition, fluency in written and spoken Portuguese a distinct advantage
– Excellent creative, analytical and writing skills
– Good communication and presentation skills
– Ability to work individually or in a team, and take initiative
