As Projects coordinator you will specifically work with ActionAid member countries, International Secretariat stakeholders, and Convening Partners, by
Taking the lead on the development of, coordination, and execution of a comprehensive strategy towards the Kilimanjaro initiative as a key moment for the AAI federation in 2016, in order to meet the agreed objectives and targets. Support AAI countries with their local and national mobilization plans, message collection and consolidation, and advocacy initiatives, while ensuring strong multi-country coordination and solidarity.
Supporting the mobilization of supporters across countries, advocating for rights and justice for women and communities affected by or resisting dispossession of their land and livelihood base.
Playing a convening role with other lead organisations to ensure effective coordination between ActionAid and key organisations.
The ideal candidate must have a relevant social sciences degree/masters/post-graduate qualification and a minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in a similar position of non-profit, development, and/or humanitarian organization and at least 3-5- years’ experience of running campaigns. You will have developed in-country and country level mobilization skills most importantly with rural women’s organizations. You will also have been involved in developing communication strategy, tool kits and message synthesis for mobilisation, and other communications assets for use in land advocacy-focused events nationally and globally. You will have the ability to work with teams to coordinate regional caravans towards Kilimanjaro, including logistics oversight; you have an eye for detail and good partnership building and networking skills. You will be comfortable operating between country cases and support across countries and understand the importance of providing pro-active technical support. Critically, you will be excited by the opportunity to work as part of a small international team, going above and beyond delivering on Kilimanjaro project related tasks.
