Opportunity
Abt Associates Inc. is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Data Quality & Reporting Officer for a US Government funded comprehensive malaria project in Zimbabwe. The 5-year project will work to strengthen the capacity of the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) at the national, provincial, district, and community levels, in the areas of case management and malaria in pregnancy, LLIN distribution, social behavior change communication, surveillance/M&E and research, and therapeutic efficacy trials.
Under the supervision of the M&E/OR Manager, the Data Quality & Reporting Officer will support the project’s M&E activities and will be responsible for developing M&E plans, indicators and reports. This position is based in Harare, Zimbabwe.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
In conjunction with the M&E Manager, support all of the project’s M&E activities.
Work with technical specialists on the project to prepares project performance monitoring plans and monitors program indicators.
Contributes to the project work on increasing data quality for DHIS2 and other national and sub-national databases.
Participates in the collection, cleaning, analysis, and reporting of M&E data according to the project’s M&E plan.
Ensures data accuracy, security and legal and regulatory compliance with national and international regulations and laws.
Produces various types of data reports on a routine basis including visual presentation of data.
Any other duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills / Prerequisites
Secondary School (minimum) or a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Community Health, Sociology, or other relevant field (desirable).
Three (3) years of relevant experience in database management, monitoring & evaluation, or other relevant social science activities.
Experience working with government entities, stakeholder groups, health workers, local authorities, and community groups.
Ability to work well in a team environment and under pressure.
Previous work experience in Zimbabwe is required. Previous work experience with USAID health projects is desirable.
Willingness to travel within the country as needed.
Oral and written English language required, additional knowledge of recognized local languages preferred.
Must be Zimbabwean or have a Zimbabwean work permit.
Minimum Qualifications
