Bless a Child Foundation (BSF) is a nongovernmental organization that provides care support services to children from the ages of 0-12 years suffering from cancer and related infections. Established in March 2007, Bless a Child Foundation (BCF) was founded as a result of a realized need that paediatric cancer patients in Uganda had inadequate access to medical care and support.
Through its various care activities Bless a Child Foundation (BCF) ensures that all paediatric cancer patients referred access the proper diagnosis and cancer treatment required. In addition Bless a Child Foundation (BCF) conducts additional activities to ensure that the paediatric patients under our care continue to the extent possible to live normal lives including making certain that they receive educational services, games and entertainment while undergoing treatment. Bless a Child Foundation also provides for the psycho-socio support to parents/care givers of these children.
VOLUNTEERING WITH US
BCF is in the process of initiating various volunteer projects underway to ensure the overhead employment costs of BCF remain low, so we are looking for volunteers for BCF Fundraising Events, Office Staff/Admin Support and various House activities, both in Uganda and the US.
Volunteering positions are available for both short term and long term and anyone is welcome to volunteer with us.

PLAY PERSONNEL
Roles & Responsibilities
Engage children with cancer in structured play activities at the hospital ward, outpatient clinic or Family Support Centre.
Help to clean toys, prepare art & craft activities and/or run group activities.
Requirements
At least 18 years old
Enjoys interacting and playing with children
Exhibits maturity, energy and cheerfulness
Commitment
A minimum 2 hours per week
A minimum of 6 months
TUTOR
Roles & Responsibilities
Provide tuition to a child with cancer or sibling who comes from a low-income family.
To befriend the child with cancer or sibling
To interact and play with the child or sibling
Requirements
At least 20 years old
Minimum ‘A’ Levels/Diploma
Willing to commute to the child’s house
Mature, patient and creative
Commitment
Able to go to the child’s house for at least 2 hours a week for a period of 1 year.
Child’s friend.
Submit a bi-monthly record form to the Social Worker/Counselor in-charge
Enjoys and likes planning and conducting activities
