Background
The National Association of Social Workers Zimbabwe (NASW-Z) is a voluntary, membership-based, non-partisan, non-tribal, non-racial, non-discriminatory and not-for-profit organisation which was established in order to advance the interests of social workers and raise their professional status. NASW-Z undertakes to enhance the professional growth and development of its members, to create and maintain professional standards, and to advance sound social policies in Zimbabwe. In furtherance of its mandate and as its contribution to the Social Welfare Workforce Strengthening in Zimbabwe, NASW has entered into strategic partnerships with the Department of Social Services, Council of Social Workers and World Education to run a Social Worker graduate internship programme since January 2013. In this regard, the Association is seeking to recruit Social Workers currently out of employment to be engaged on an internship basis for a period of one year to help such Social Workers gain the much needed employment experience while at the same time contributing to national Social Welfare workforce strengthening.

– General office administration
– Bookkeeping to trial balance

– Assists in writing financial reports
Duties
– Handle all office correspondence
– Maintain payment system, keep and manage petty cash at hand
– To file all correspondence in a way that is simple to prepare justification and reports to donors
– Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports to the donor
– Maintain a office asset register and be responsible for asset administration at sub office
– Maintain a register of program inventories i.e. receiving and issuing out of program accessories
– Arrange office and program meetings
– Perform other related administrative, accounting and finance duties as may be assigned
Ability to
– Interact effectively with the public and other employees
– Plan and direct the maintenance of the sub office financial records
– Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

Education/professional qualifications
– 3 A Levels including accounts
– Studying towards a professional Qualification (Part C) e.g. IAC, CIS, is an added advantage
– Knowledge of principles, practices and methods of accounting and budget preparation and analysis
