Functional Unit: Programmes Reporting to: Head of Programmes and Project Team Leader
Supervising: Interns
Duty Station: Harare but frequent travelling in country
Key relationships
Internally: Head of Programmes, Director, Programme Officers, staff Lawyers
Externally: CBOs, Community committees, local NGOs, various networks, international stakeholders, donors, providers of consultancy services and external evaluations
Responsibilities
– Formulate, review, monitor and maintain a sound and effective reporting system for the organization
– Develop and maintain effective M&E tools and systems to collect, review and analyze program related data and indicators of each project
– Contribute to the organizational learning by preparing and disseminating data on lessons learnt, good practices and evidence of the program/ project achievements
– Collect, review, analyze and interpret data for planning purposes
– Undertake Monitoring and Evaluation activities in support of other project team members, including field visits
– Monitors implementation of planned activities
– Prepare quarterly progress and monitoring reports
– Prepare the organizational annual work plan and annual reports
– Assist with writing of project proposals
– Work with any consultant, expert or other parties that may be engaged by the organisation or donors to carry out external evaluation of projects and programmes
– Attend meetings and conferences organized by the organisation as will be assigned by your supervisor or other project managers
– Any other functions that may, from time to time, be allocated by the Head of Programmes, to implement other project activities such as, but not limited to, research work, advocacy campaigns, field visits and public education as may be necessary to help achieve the objectives of the organisation
Required skills and experience
– 5 ‘O’ levels including English
– Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field plus recognised qualification in Project Management, or Project Monitoring and Evaluation
– 3 years working experience 2 of which in NGO/civil society sector
– Experiencing working with MS Word, Excel, Database and Project and other relevant and applicable Database packages such as SPSS
– Rich experience preferably of programming
– Good knowledge of Programme cycle Management and Development
– Communication and analytical skills.
