Job Summary
Due to the current expansion projects, the Mining Division to consider suitably candidates for the above position.
Description
Responsibilities Include:
- Ensuring safety, health, environmental and quality (SHEQ) issues and social concerns are managed as a strategic focus area at business unit level.
- Ensuring all statutory requirements are met within the business unit.
- Implementing and maintaining sound people management and development practices to ensure a productive workforce.
- Ensuring production targets and profit margins are achieved cost-effectively and safely on a sustainable basis for the business unit.
- Developing and executing the strategic vision/ plan for the business unit and directly assisting the General Manager in the tactical management process through effective leadership
- Acting as the custodian for innovation, technology and best practices at business unit level.
- Ensuring effective asset management processes are implemented and adhered to.
Requirements
Qualification and Experience
- Degree or diploma in Mining Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years at senior level with underground trackless mining experience
- Previous experience in Room and Pillar mining method will be an added advantage
- Full Blasting Licence
- Computer literacy in mining packages Vulcan and Surpac
- Knowledge of Microsoft packages.
- Strong appreciation of rock engineering and support methods.
- A self-starter with strong leadership qualities.
