Description
We seek a dynamic and innovative Programs Director to be Based at Bindura Location to oversee and supervise the consolidation of all SOS Children Villages programs at the location into one program (Children Villages Program Policy) i.e. Family Strengthening Program, Family Based Program / Hermann Gmeiner Secondary and Primary Schools, Maize lands primary school, Kindergartens and Maize lands Farm into one program.
He or she will be responsible for the quality and effective implementation of all programs at the location in accordance with SOS Children Villages International guidelines and government legislation in relation to child rights and access to essential services.
Responsibilities will include:
- Supervision of all staff at the location
- Co-ordination of all programs and activities at the location
- Monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of the programs and results of the program and plan adjustments
- Ensuring compliance of all programs to SOS Children Villages International policies and Ministry of Public Service and Social Welfare legislature and policies on Child Rghts and access to essential services
- Budget and manage financial and material resources to ensure optimal utilization of the resources
- Be responsible for fundraising and events at the location
- Implement change management at the location
- Reach out to the community for volunteers and support
- Attend community events to represent SOS Children and its programs
- Write reports monthly to the National Office
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate should have
- A relevant degree in community development, social work or similar qualification
- A Master’s degree in either Development Studies or Business administration will be a definite advantage
- The ideal candidate will be a change management expert with wealth of experience in handling change management programmes
- At least five years’ experience in Managing a program of a similar nature but preferably working in an environment of child care and development
- Demonstrate that he/she is passionate about child rights and access to essential services
- Be an effective communicator with excellent report writing skills
