Key relationships

Externally: Local partners, international stakeholders, donors, providers of consultancy services
Main responsibility: Support to projects and activities aiming to forward implementation of UNSCR 1325
Main responsibilities
– To contribute to a well-managed and results oriented Country Programme that is relevant to the participating partner organisations
– Plan, carry out and follow up that adequate technical assistance is provided to local partners projects and programmes working on UNSCR 1325.
Programme development
– Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of the 1325 project in Zimbabwe
– Participate in relevant networks and cooperate and coordinate with likeminded stakeholders
– Identify and facilitate information and documentation of partner interventions methods and best practises using information and communication as strategic tools
– Actively work to identify new sources of project funding;
Capacity development
– Ensure that partner organisations are provided with adequate technical assistance according to their capacity development plans
– Ensure that the results of technical assistance are monitored on a regular basis
– Identify and provide relevant training for INGO staff
– Document learning experiences, methods development and relevant processes.
Administrative requirements
– Contribute to the development of an annual work plan for the Project, including budget
– Receive and analyse partner organisation narrative reports. Provide formal feed-back and approval in writing
– Prepare narrative and financial reports based on monitoring of partner organisation results and monitoring of INGO value addition
– Manage the areas of responsibility in accordance with INGO strategies, internal and donor regulations as well as general good practices
General responsibilities
– Adhere to the basic principles and values of INGO as expressed in the global policy as well as sector specific strategies and polices
– Take active participation in and contribute to the further development of the country team. Communicate challenges and seek means to solve them jointly
– Take initiatives to improve the quality of our work, promote synergies and learning
– Perform any other duties that may be required from time to time.
Qualifications and experience
– Social Science degree in development studies, peace building or related discipline
– Strong experience in and understanding of UNSCR 1325 and its relevance within the Zimbabwean and Southern African context
– 5 years’ experience in NGO civil society sector of which 2 are in a managerial capacity
– Good knowledge of programme cycle management and development
– Excellent analytical and writing skills
– Excellent knowledge of English. Working knowledge of Ndebele is an advantage
– Clean Class 4 driver’s license
– Knowledge of software packages such as MS Excel, MS Project and MS PowerPoint
