Job summary
The Project Field Assistant – WASH (PFA – WASH) will be stationed in Chivi reporting directly to the Field Supervisor at district level. S/he will be responsible for facilitating community and stakeholder participation in implementing project activities; capacity building trainings in WASH and conducting water quality testing in partnership with MoHCC. The incumbent will also be responsible for community engagement, mobilization & monitoring and facilitating community participatory planning processes. S/he will be responsible for effective implementation of project deliverables as well as collection of community level information and data in line with the project implementation plan.
Key duties and responsibilities
Field project implementation at community level which includes; Conducting community mobilization and sensitisation; Facilitating beneficiary identification and registration for the project; Distributing project materials as per plan (Non Food Items); Participating in data collection, e.g. administers questionnaires, collects statistics relevant to the project; Conducting community capacity building, such as training of committees and individual artisans; Conducting verification, follow-ups and process monitoring; Stakeholder coordination which involves: Coordinating community participation and stakeholder relations at community and district levels; Organizing and facilitating community level meetings; Facilitating collaboration with stakeholders, e.g. Government extension workers and traditional leaders; Preparing reports on progress, activities, fuel reconciliations and incidents
Qualifications, skills and experience
– Diploma in Public Health/Water & Sanitation or equivalent
– Good interpersonal and communication skills
– Good public relations, team player and able to work under strenuous conditions
– Ability and willingness to ride a motorcycle is a must
– Minimum of 2 years working experience in Water and Sanitation projects or other related field
