INTERNAL AUDITOR REQUIRED, Harare

The mandate of the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) is to regulate the Energy Sector in Zimbabwe. As part of achieving our mandate, we are looking for highly competent, professional and results oriented individuals who are able to take our organisation to another level in the following roles:

Description
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The key job functions of this position will be to:

• Evaluate the effectiveness of management control in various systems of the Authority and recommend corrective measures
• Carry out and report on routine and special audits
• Design, document and review audit programmes
• Analyse and make reviews of the Authority’s systems of internal checks and controls
• Develop quarterly and annual plans for the Audit function
• Assess the cost effectiveness of projects
• Produce audit reports after each audit assignment as well as periodic and adhoc audit reports for management
• Make follow ups on the implementation of audit recommendations
• Liaise with the external auditors from time to time as required

Requirements

1. The successful candidate for this position should meet the following criteria:
2. Degree in Accounting/Auditing or Full CIS qualification
3. Membership of Institute of Internal Auditors
4. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related position
5. Proficiency in Accounting and Audit techniques
6. Knowledge of business systems, rules and regulations
7. Ability to manage internal control procedures and best practices
8. Highly developed IT skills
9. Honest and mature with excellent report writing skills
10. Clean track record and ability to meet strict deadlines
