ASI combines expertise and technical capacity to work with partners across both public and private sectors to promote and reinforce our development mission of empowering people to succeed in a market-driven global economy.ASI is seeking a Nutrition Intervention Manager to serve on the Programme Management Unit (PMU) for an anticipated multi-year DFID-funded Zimbabwe livelihoods programme. The objective of the programme is to improve food security, reduce malnutrition and strengthen livelihoods amongst rural households, as well to facilitate market linkages in the agricultural sector. The programme aims to improve incomes of 100,000 vulnerable smallholders, 60 percent of whom are women.

The Nutrition Intervention Manager will develop and implement nutrition focussed interventions within the strategic framework of M4P focused on agricultural markets, and will be responsible for nutrition interventions of the programme and provision of management and technical expertise. The Intervention Manager will select and implement a series of nutrition interventions that align with the overall strategy of the programme and improve food security, reduce malnutrition, and strengthen resilience. He/she will contribute to effective programme implementation, with attention given to improving overall VfM (Value for Money). This position is contingent upon ASI being awarded a contract.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Identify the underlying causes of malnutrition and food insecurity in the program target areas, and develop and implement a nutrition strategy to address these constraints and ensure improved food security and nutrition.
•Develop and implement activities that are within the M4P framework to improve nutrition by improving access to and availability of nutritious foods by strengthening the food market system and exploring the opportunities for fortification.
•Design and deliver nutrition trainings for staff and partners, focusing on the cross cutting nature of the causes and impact of malnutrition.
•Develop and oversee the delivery of nutrition capacity building activities targeted at the household level to ensure improved nutrition behaviours.
•Where applicable, the Intervention Manager will directly contribute to the development of intervention tools and the capacity building of key stakeholders in the market.
•Contribute to monitoring and evaluation framework, reports and project outputs from the perspective of nutrition. Ensure the monitoring and evaluation framework adequately measured the impact and captures learning on nutrition-sensitive agricultural activities.

Qualifications:
•Minimum bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (nutrition, food science, etc.). Master’s degree strongly preferred.
•More than 8 years of experience working in Southern Africa on nutrition issues, particularly related to agriculture, nutrition and/or food security is required.
•Experience in facilitating trainings for staff and beneficiary populations is required.
•Experience with M4P programs and value chain experience strongly preferred.

Climate Change Specialist-Rural Development/Food Security Programme: Zimbabwe

Objective of the role:

We are seeking applications from highly experienced experts for the role of Climate Change Specialist.  The Climate Change Specialist will ensure that the programme fully incorporates attention to climate risk management by guiding the promotion and adoption of climate smart agricultural practices, to reduce the farmers’ vulnerability to climate shocks that threaten productivity, food security and the development of stable markets. The Climate Change Specialist will ensure that the programme efforts are linked to ongoing efforts from universities, research institutions and other programmes promoting climate smart agriculture

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and produce a comprehensive inventory of possible climate smart  agricultural practices
  • Identify the “best-fit” practices for adoption in the different districts of operations for the programme
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments for all commercial activities to minimise any adverse environmental and climate change impacts
  • Work with relevant organisations to provide guidance on the implementation of climate smart agricultural practices
  • Encourage the adoption of sound natural resources management practices

  • At least 5 years of experience in leading climate smart centred interventions on large programmes

  • Knowledge of the wide ranging climate smart agricultural practices for crops, livestock and natural resource management that include (but not limited to) conservation agriculture, agro-forestry, water harvesting, integrated pest management, improved pasture management etc

  • Assists Telecom Operator Analysts in the Review Audit results, root cause analysis and resolution of issues and continual updating of the systems processes and procedures.
  • Develop complex Ad hoc audits as requested by RA team in line with the business needs.
  • Make minor and major configuration changes to adaptors , reports and dashboards to accommodate the changes in data format and business rules.
  • Initial analysis and classification of changes in network node configuration and business rules on new products. Make clarification to Subex on documentation provided by Telecom Operator system vendors.
  • Participate in acceptance testing for future developments and / or changes made by the Application Administrator.
  • Provide Adhoc Training to facilitate knowledge transfer to both systems users and system administrators.
  • Work with Telecom Operator Section Managers in designing appropriate processes and controls to minimize identified exposures to RA and FM issues.
  • Monitoring of data feeds polling, collection, duplicate tagging, LDC, correlation, parsing and loading.
  • Assisting in the tracking/reporting of Performance against KPI’s and fine-tuning the KPI thresholds.

Requirements for IT Jobs Zimbabwe

Skills and Experience Required:
  • At least 4 years of hands-on application support of Moneta and Nikira systems.
  • At least 4 years’ experience in RA and FM operations in a GSM Telco Telco environment
  • A very good understanding of telecommunications products, networks and technical entities.
  • A very good understating of technical entities of Ericsson, Huawei and ZTE network technologies.
  • An excellent understanding of telecommunications billing, customer care and business financial systems.
  • Training/Experience on telecommunications GSM network, Fraud and RA in telecommunications, Financial and mobile money systems.
  • Experience in the use of other audit analysis tools like ACL, etc. and excellent  numerical & analytical abilities, including Data Analysis techniques
  • Excellent understanding of English language and interpretation of technical documentation.
  • Audit experience will be an advantage.
  • Ability to build good relationships and work as part of a Tea
