Health, Safety and Environment Superintendent

RioZim Limited is a company incorporated in Zimbabwe with mining and related operations in several parts of Zimbabwe. It is listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange. The company seeks to recruit a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Superintendent to be based at Renco Mine. The successful candidate will be a member of the senior management team at the Location.

The key deliverables for the position will, among other duties, are the following:

• To develop and maintain an integrated Health, Safety and Environmental management system for the Location.
• Ensure operational compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.
• Carry out scheduled and unscheduled audits and inspections.
• Ensure all incidents are properly and thoroughly investigated and corrective action implemented.
• To ensure total compliance with regulatory requirements.
• To interface with relevant industry bodies on behalf of the Location.

Requirements for the position are:

• Relevant Degree in Environmental Health Sciences or equivalent
• At least eight years’ relevant working experience, three of which should be in a senior position, preferably in a mining environment.
• Experience in relevant standards and systems (NOSA, ISO 14001, OHSAS, 18001 and ISO 9001 etc.)
• Proven competence in management systems training and audits. Computer Literacy.
• Being an ISO certified auditor would be an added advantage.
