ActionAid seeks a Graduate Trainee who will be responsible for ensuring that M&E frameworks/systems for a Water Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) project are implemented effectively in liaison with the WASH Project Officer and the Programme Quality and Effectiveness manager
Principal accountabilities
Supports the development of M&E tools and setting up of an M&E database, updating it and ensuring data quality; Participates in WASH project reviews/evaluations and external reviews/evaluations; Supports capacity building of Municipal, Community and School level structures; Contributes to organizational learning by preparing and disseminating data on lessons learnt, good practices and statistical evidence of the project achievements; Assists the WASH project officer to plan and carry out needs assessments, baseline studies and periodic studies, and feedback findings to the stakeholders; Assists the Project Officer in compiling relevant reports in line with agreed deadlines; Prepares and timeously submits progress reports and other reports to the Programme Quality and Effectiveness Manager as required; Networks with other organizations and government institutions at local level or as directed by line manager

Education
A bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, and/or other relevant field
Other requirements and competences
Knowledge and understanding of development issues; Ability to work in partnership with local partners; Ability to write concise, analytical and accurate reports to agreed deadlines; Knowledge and understanding of monitoring and evaluation processes and tools; Ability to collate and analyse data; Ability to communicate effectively verbally; Good written English and local languages relevant in areas of work
