FMCG Jobs Zimbabwe – Transport Supervisor

The person will report to the departmental manager and would be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the transportation operations within the organisation. Should also be able to oversee and schedule the maintenance and repair of equipment and vehicles used in the transportation duties

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for getting the right products in the right quantities, to the right locations all at the right time.
• In charge of the day to day operations of the transport department.
• Efficiently managing a team of drivers and vehicles.
• Responsible for all of the dispatching, routing, and tracking of delivery vehicles,
• Ensuring company compliance of all transport policies, legislation and procedures
• Managing, monitoring and developing a team of drivers
• Being the first point of contact for all drivers.
• Making sure that all transport fleet vehicles arc properly maintained and serviced.
• Arranging for the induction and training oil’ all new staff.
• Regularly liaising with the delivery staff III ensure a s mooth running of both departments.
• Generate a clear communication How between drivers and co workers concerning work expectations
• Maintaining accurate administrative records.
• Organising vehicle checks.
• Identifyiug operational issues. potential problems and opportunities.
• Resolving and managing queries and complaints courteously and efficiently.
• Appraising staffperformance and also laking disciplinary measures when required.
• Ensuring all site and customer objectives are achieved.
• Responsible for all Health and Safety investigations .
• Any other duties as allocated by the Manager and Company Director

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Transport and Logistics or a related qualification and 3 years experience
