ABOUT THE ROLE:
EGPAF is recruiting three field based Programme Assistants to strengthen the Zimbabwe component of a multi- country project focused on Increasing Access, Retention, and Follow up of PMTCT and Pediatric HIV Care services at the community level. Working as part of EGPAF ACCLAIM project team, s/he will assist with the overall design, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of the community program, reporting to the Technical Officer-Community Linkages.

Working as part of EGPAF ACCLAIM project team, s/he will assist with the overall design, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of the community program, reporting to the Technical Officer-Community Linkages.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Provide district oversight for the development of strategies for strengthening community linkages to increase demand, access and retention in the PMTCT program
- Co-ordinate development of district work plans as well as piloting and refinement of community linkages tools
- Provide supervisory oversight of community cadres, as well as guidance and support for effective implementation of the ACCLAIM program
- To support development and implementation of community action plans for the ACCLAIM program
- Liaise with officials from the MOHCW as well as local leaders and civil society groups at district level in program designing, implementation and monitoring and evaluation
- Support the development of community monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems and data collection mechanisms for the ACCLAIM program
- Facilitate data collection from community intervention activities and health facilities and its submission to EGPAF country office,
- Ensure timeliness, validity and accuracy of the data collected for the program within the district,
- Co-ordinate the drafting and submission of district level project reports to the Technical Officer-Community Linkages and to other coordinating authorities within the district
- Keep the country office updated on the project and other important events and developments taking place in the district,
- Support the development of a community advisory group to design and implement the operation research activities in the district,
- Monitor t project expenditures ensuring that they are in line with the district budget
- Closely liaise with the operations research team to ensure all district activities are in alignment with project requirements
- Attend and represent EGPAF in the district co-ordination meetings
- Provide support and supervision to the MCH Class/ Peer Support intervention
- Provide administrative and logistical support to the community cadres and ensuring that foundation assets are properly secured and kept in good working condition
- Any other duties assigned by the country office
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- A social science degree in Sociology, environmental health, community nursing, or public health
- Community health qualification will be an added advantage
- 3-5 years proven experience working directly with communities and community based organizations
- 1-3 years’ experience working with health programs in Zimbabwe
- Experience in mobilizing communities for public health programs will be an added advantage.
- All applicants will be expected to undergo a criminal background check
- Good knowledge and understanding of HIV/AIDS issues in the health sector
- Good understanding of research methodologies, research ethics would be an added advantage
- Strong written and verbal skills Strong analytical skills Computer literacy
- Ability and willingness to reside in the district of operation
- Fluency in English required, knowledge of local language preferred Ability to ride a motor bike is a must (Clean Class 3 Licence)
