Job Summary
The primary responsibility of this position will be to drive assigned vehicle and advise on security matters within work environments to reduce risks staff may face. The position also involves performing day to day administrative functions for the office.
Responsibilities/Specific Duties
- Responsible for the safe operation, usage and maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
- Ensures all duties as driver of the assigned vehicle are performed in adherence with local traffic laws and organization policies, specifically Authorized Driver Agreement.
- Responsible for accounting for each trip, record keeping and attendant paperwork from each trip using Vehicle log Book to ensure vehicle usage activities comply with organizational policies and donor requirements.
- Reports any problem identified on the vehicle and also ensure all licenses and documents relating to the vehicle are renewed on time and as required.
- Supports program implementation through the implementation of safety approaches, procedures and protocols delineated by International Head Office regarding travel, safety and security.
- Reports and advises on any risks and/or incidents that may impact the Zimbabwe relating to travel, safety and security.
- Runs errands for the office and performs administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Professional Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum of a good grade in secondary school level education
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience driving a company vehicle. Driving for an International Organization or NGO would be an added advantage.
- Ability to make a good judgement on staff safety and provide appropriate advice.
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively under stressful conditions.
- General familiarity with travel and security issues in Zimbabwe is desired. Ability to adjust to shifting travel and security circumstances and facilitate operations accordingly.
- Goodoraland written English required. Proficiency in local/other languages a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of time within Zimbabwe.
SUPERVISOR
This position will work under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator based in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
