2 x Project Assistants
(Midlands Province)
Duties and responsibilities
– Assisting in the identification, registration and verification of project beneficiaries
– Assisting in the planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating of the activities at districts level
– Planning, organizing and facilitating capacity building of community based structures
– Mobilizing and motivating communities on project implementation schedules
– Monitoring and accounting for all project materials allocated to beneficiaries on behalf of Christian Care
– Attending operational and administrative meetings at the district local level
– Offering technical advice on Livestock Production and Management activities
– Organizing and facilitating the establishment of sustainable smallholder farmer livestock production that is backed by effective market and market-linkages
– Serving as a liaison between the organization, government agencies, local authorities and the community
– Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships that promotes continued implementation of the Livestock Drought Mitigation Program in the district
– Attending regular meetings with different stakeholders
– Compiling and submitting informative (qualitative and quantitative) weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
– Performing any other relevant duties as assigned by the superiors
Personnel specification
The prospective candidate should:
– Have a minimum of Diploma/Degree in Agriculture specializing in livestock production, market and market linkages with at least 1 year experience preferably in an NGO sector
– Have a minimum of Diploma/Degree in Social Sciences with at least 3 years experience in livestock production, market and market linkages preferably in an NGO sector
– Have good communication skills especially with the rural communities
– Must be prepared to stay within the district of operation
– Must be prepared to work long hours
– Must be able to ride a motorcycle and should have a valid Class 3 or 4 Drivers License
– Must enclose a recommendation letter from the Pastor
Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant
(Midlands Province)
Duties and Responsibilities
– Assist in developing performance management framework
– Assisting in the development of effective programme monitoring tools for routine data collection
– Monitoring project activities to ensure adherence and compliance to programme standards
– Collecting routine data from the operational areas for monitoring and evaluation purposes
– Assessing impact of the Livestock Drought Mitigation Program on the lives of the target group (both livestock and household levels)
– Documenting effectively experiences as captured by the monitoring system emanating from the field for purposes of learning from experiences
– Compiling reports based on monitoring and evaluation activities
– Assisting in stakeholder coordination
– Facilitating the establishment of sustainable monitoring and evaluating mechanisms at grassroots level
– Sampling of beneficiaries for verification, post purchase monitoring, and household development assessments, marketing activities
– Any other relevant duties as assigned by the superiors
– Compile weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly reports
Personnel specification
The prospective candidate should:
– Have a minimum of a Social Science Degree, plus Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation
– At least 2 years experience in Monitoring and Evaluation preferably working in the NGO sector
– Knowledge of computer data analysis packages eg SPSS, Microsoft Access etc a must
– Must be able to ride a motorcycle with a clean Class 3 or 4 Drivers License
– Must be prepared to stay in the district of operation
– Good writing and communication skills
– Must be prepared to work long hours
Remuneration
The package on offer will be disclosed to short listed candidates.
