LEAD CHEF REQUIRED
LOCATION: HARARE, ZIMBABWE
The client, who is a 5* lodge/ Hotel is seeking a lead chef to join their team. Salary is highly negotiable dependent on experience. The candidate will be expected to work to a six week on two week off cycle and live onsite at the provided accommodation.
The main purpose of the head chef is to manage the kitchens and qualify food at the various kitchens, in line with the service vision and creative concepts of the lodge and the head chef is responsible to the general manager for this.
MAIN DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
- Drive the broader goals of the company, in terms of the kitchens, by planning and implementing Strategic Management Plans.
- Management and training of staff.
- Supervision of food preparation.
- Effective guest interaction.
- Effective management of staff canteens.
- Administration of orders, effective stock control and financial management.
- Ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen.
- Correct use and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
- Communication with kitchen and lodge staff to ensure a smooth running department.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- A degree or diploma in culinary management is adequate for this position.
- A minimum of 4 years work experience in a well recognized establishment
- International experience is an advantage
- Previous Head Chef experience is essential
