Job summary
Reporting to the Field Supervisor, the Food Monitor will be responsible for facilitating community participation in project implementation activities, which include training, food distribution, and mainstreaming gender conducting community mobilization, sensitization and registration of Food For Assets (FFA) and Nutrition beneficiaries using the Last Mile Mobile Solutions (LMMS). S/he will be responsible for conducting food distributions under the FFA and Nutrition interventions as well as conducting verification and post distribution monitoring exercises.
Key duties and responsibilities
Planning project and field activities at community level; Conducting community mobilization and sensitisation; Facilitating beneficiary identification and registration for the project; Conducting verification, follow-ups, process and post distribution monitoring; Distributing project materials as per plan (food & non food items); Preparing reports on progress, fuel usage & incidents; Community coordination which involves community participation and stakeholder relations; Verifying FFA food entitlements based on number of days worked; Facilitating collaboration with stakeholders such as extension workers, traditional leaders, Village Heath Workers and Councilors.
Qualifications, skills and experience
– Diploma in Development Studies/Agriculture/Community Development or equivalent
– Good interpersonal and communication skills
– Good public relations, team player and able to work under strenuous conditions
– Ability and willingness to ride a motorcycle is a must
– Minimum of 2 years experience in community development/humanitarian aid work or related field
