Job Summary

SNV is currently working with a pool of SME’s providing capacity building services that allow them to provide better and more services to smallholder farmers. To further advance their capacities, SNV wishes to implement a matching grants facility that seeks to support the SMEs that are crucial to the participation of the smallholder farmers in agriculture value chains and assist them to recover competitiveness through investments in technology upgrades and/or market development.

Description

Key Tasks of the Associate Advisor

The tasks shall include but not be limited to the following:

  • Marketing of the facility to SMEs and associations.
  • Participate in the awareness workshops.
  • Assist interested companies to complete the application forms.
  • Participate in LCB orientation workshops.
  • Provide support to the technical assistance team.
  • Perform other tasks relating to the programme.
  • Submit progress reports as agreed with the Matching Grants Component Team Leader.

 

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

SNV wishes to recruit someone with the following skills/qualifications and experiences:

  • A degree in Finance, Business Studies or Agricultural Economics. A Masters degree is an advantage.
  • Three years’ experience working in the development sector or with private sector.
  • Knowledge of the needs ofSMEs.
  • Ability to read, understand and conduct analysis of companies.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills with particular emphasis on report writing and presentation.
  • Ability to work independently and to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments.
