WORK HOURS: Full-time, 40 hours/week
SALARY: Ordinarily Resident (OR): $ 21,078 p.a. FSN-6
Not-Ordinarily Resident (NOR): $ 31,614* p.a. FP-8*
*Final grade/step for NORs will be determined by Washington.

The U.S. Mission in Harare is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
The Facilities Administrative Assistant provides all administrative support for the Facility Management section of approximately 40 staff. Manages work orders, prepares time and attendance, drafts written communications, provides customer service interface between technicians and customers, coordinates and schedules work with contractors, places and tracks procurements, maintains files and databases, and serves as petty cash handler for the section.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Applicants must address each required qualification listed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item. Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified.
1. EDUCATION: Completion of Advanced Level secondary education is required.
2. EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years’ experience in a general office management or administrative capacity is required.
3. LANGUAGE: Level III – Good Working Knowledge (reading, spoken and written) English is required.
4. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills. Must have good computer literacy and be able to use email, databases, spreadsheets, and word-processing software suites.
5. JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have a good understanding of all aspects of office management practices.

- Current OR employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply. Current OR employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report (EPR) are not eligible to apply.
- Current NOR employees hired on a Family Member Appointment (FMA) or a Personal Service Agreement (PSA) are not eligible to apply within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless they have a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
