Volunteer overseas with Raleigh ICS. Change your life and the lives of others.
ICS is a development programme that brings together young people from the UK and developing countries to volunteer in some of the poorest communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The programme is led by VSO and funded by the UK government. ICS is delivered by respected development organisations, of which Raleigh is one.
ICS aims to bring about three things: project impact, volunteer personal development and the creation of active citizens.
What you’ll do
· Raleigh ICS programmes focus on improving people’s access to water and sanitation, or supporting women and young people to set up small businesses and improve their livelihoods
· They give you the chance to make a real difference to the lives of people living in poverty
· It is also great way to improve your employment prospects and CV. You will develop transferrable skills that employers value such leadership, resilience, flexibility and many more
How it works
· We work in partnership with local volunteers to make sure you become an integral part of the community
· ICS works with overseas project partners who will make the most of your energy and passion
· We ask our volunteers to commit to 10-12 week placements as we know it takes time to understand a community and its issues
