JOB DESCRIPTION
Job title: Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant
Reporting to: Monitoring and Evaluation
Duty Location: Yumbe
Purpose of the position:
To support the project in systematic data collection and management of up to date databases for timely and evident reporting, to ensure quality programming and accountability within the framework of World Vision and donor standards and guidelines.
Main responsibilities:
Database Management
- Perform Routine data processing and entry and assist in both quantitative and qualitative analysis & preparation of draft M&E reports that will allow for an enhanced understanding of the project indicators
- Take lead in systematic data collection through assessments to assess the project outcomes and provide actionable recommendations to improve the program.
- Track project progress through standardised data collection tools and methodologies
- Support the project team with data management and identifying programmatic issues and prompt corrective actions to enhance the project objectives.
- Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and other associated guidelines
- Ensure compliance and processing protocols in order to meet standards for quality and accuracy.
- Input data collected to the World Vision data base and share the findings with the relevant stakeholders.
- Give updates on issues related to quality and assist in implementing actions to address compromise in data quality
- Conduct Routine Field Monitoring of Project interventions and take lead in the design of data collection tools to track Project progress
Accountability and Humanitarian Principles
- Help to train community mobilizers and beneficiaries on Community Response Mechanism (CRM), and in dissemination of M&E/HA monthly reports to communities and document community feedback for project management decision making.
- Participate in the setup of a Robust Community help desk as a forum to receive community issues and provide timely feedback
- Supervise and ensure random weighing of rations received by beneficiaries to establish whether they are getting rightful rations.
- Supervise FM and ensure that they conduct pre-distribution meeting to sensitize and inform beneficiaries about commodities in the food basket, ration sizes, nutrition and hygiene messages and any other issues to be communicated to them.
Learning and Reporting:
- Participate in Quarterly Review Meeting internally and externally with relevant Stakeholders.
- Support Project Managers in the compilation of Monthly, Quarterly, Bi annual and annual reports through provision of timely accurate and updated data.
- Prepare monthly and Quarterly activity progress report and submit to the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
- Take lead in documentation of best practices, lessons learnt, assessment reports
- Take lead in the documentation of human interest and success stories to facilitate qualitative outcomes of the intervention on the benefitting communities.
- Participate in the compilation of the monthly Partner updates to share with the relevant stakeholders
Review of reports and sub-project documents:
- Review all sub-project (WVI & WFP formats) reports and ensure they have compliance with donor standards
- Providing overall guidance and support in checking quality of the project reports.
Staff capacity building:
- Capacity building of staff on M & E methodologies to effectively support the program to meet the project objectives.
