PURPOSE OF POSITION:

World Vision is currently seeking professionals to join our global humanitarian response in Lake Chad Basin, who are passionate about protecting lives, restoring dignity and renewing hope, especially among children affected by conflict.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The Communications Specialist will provide support to the development, planning, implementation and monitoring of internal and external communications for the World Vision Lake Chad Basin Response.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in the field of journalism or public relations.
• Proven field communications experience in emergency settings.
• Excellent Journalistic, photography and videography skills and experience in new communications technologies such as satellite communications, computer software and social media.
• Ability to work in difficult, insecure and stressful conditions.
• Empirical knowledge of International Humanitarianism and internal and external humanitarian Standards and codes. Knowledge of the Sphere standards, Code of Conduct for Red Cross/ Red crescent, Humanitarian Accountability Partnerships (HAPI).
• Excellent command of English both written and spoken required, French strongly preferred.
